Hiroshima had the privilege of being
the first town ever to be hit with a nuclear bomb. Nagasaki was
second and caused the end of the Second World War. It also save the
lives of many thousand men. I knew two of them. There were no
complaints from them. Others object but as Americans say: Pearl
Harbour began it. Nagasaki ended it. More at Atomic
bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki The results were not pretty
but then wars are not. The photos were taken a few days later which
is why some of the corpses are swollen. One question that does not seem to get
answered or even asked is whether there was a third bomb waiting to go if that
had been what it took.
PS Yes, there were third, fourth etc. ready to
go if the need had arisen but the Emperor decided to throw the towel in. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I34pxr23Nhw
The aircraft took off from Runway Able on Tinian Island in the North Marianas.

Would I drop the bomb again? Yes
QUOTE
'Would I drop the atomic bomb again? Yes, I would'Theodore Van Kirk was the navigator aboard the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima 65 years ago. Now the sole survivor of the crew, how does he live with the deaths of 200,000 people? [ Hint:- Without the slightest difficulty - Editor ]........
Van Kirk was 24 when he joined the crew of the Enola Gay and by then he had already flown more than 50 bombing raids over Europe and North Africa. Most of those flights were in the company of his great friends, Tibbets and Thomas Ferebee, the Enola Gay's bombardier. Together, they formed the core of the Hiroshima mission. In the six months prior to the mission they and other members of the 509th Composite Group had been holed up in Wendover Field, Utah, training for an unspecified bombing run amid total secrecy. The words "atomic" and "nuclear" were never mentioned...........
Did he ever wish he had never taken part in the Enola Gay's atomic mission?
"No, I was proud to be on the Enola Gay. The war ended on 14 August. I don't know when it would have ended if we had not dropped the atomic bombs."
Would you do it again?
"Under the same circumstances and I realise you can never have them exactly again yes, I would do it again."

The left wing poofters of the Grauniad wanted him to whine about killing civilians. He did not oblige. Spot on. They ignore Japanese evil. Others do not.

The Robert L. Capp
collection at the Hoover Institution Archives contains ten
never-before-published photographs illustrating the immediate
aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing. These photographs, taken by an
unknown Japanese photographer, were found in 1945 among rolls of
undeveloped film in a cave outside Hiroshima by U.S. serviceman
Robert L. Capp, who was attached to the occupation forces. Unlike
most photos of the Hiroshima bombing, these dramatically convey the
human as well as material destruction unleashed by the atomic bomb.
Mr. Capp donated them to the Hoover Archives in 1998 with the
provision that they not be reproduced until 2008. Three of these
photographs are reproduced in Atomic Tragedy with the permission of
the Capp family. The entire set is available below. Please contact
Sean L. Malloy (smalloy@ucmerced.edu) if you have any information
that might help identify the original photographer.

The
people who complain about this one are prone to be political
activists. Some are naive. Others are malicious and disciples of
Antonio Gramsci the
chief theoretician of the communist party whose aim was the
destruction of civilization. His followers are well on the way to
success
The swelling of the bodies means that they should be buried soonest.
