ID Cards Are Bad News
Bruce Schneier, a real security expert explains. It is not just the libertarian aspect, important as it is. The technical aspects means they just do not do anything good.

The real reason is that Fascists want them. How do you know they are Fascists? They want identity cards. They want control. They want tax money from us.
