One associates Spain with Bull Fighting and corruption. Perhaps it is all more complicated. At all events they seem disgruntled with the left for the moment, in December 2019. They also had the #Spanish Civil War 1936 - 1939. It turned nasty quickly. Then there is the issue of Spanish Practices aka the dirty hand. It smooths the flow of business, helping people to progress. It is also illegal.

Right Wing Party Does Better In Spanish Election
[
12 November 2019 ]
QUOTE
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's Socialists won Spain's national election on
Sunday but large gains by the upstart far-right [ sic ] Vox party appear
certain to widen the political deadlock in the European Union's
fifth-largest economy..........
The big political shift came as right-wing voters flocked to Vox, which only had broken into Parliament in the spring for the first time. The far-right party led by 43-year-old Santiago Abascal, who speaks of 'reconquering' Spain in terms that echo the medieval wars between Christian and Moorish forces, rocketed from 24 to 52 seats.............
The party has vowed to be much tougher on both
Catalan separatists and migrants.

Spanish Civil War 1936 - 1939 ex Wiki
The Spanish Civil War was a civil war in Spain fought from 1936 to 1939. Republicans loyal to the left-leaning Popular Front government of the Second Spanish Republic, in alliance with anarchists, of the communist and syndicalist variety, fought against an insurrection by the Nationalists, an alliance of Falangists, monarchists, fascists, conservatives and traditionalists, led by a military group among whom General Francisco Franco soon achieved a preponderant role. Due to the international political climate at the time, the war had many facets and was variously viewed as class struggle, a religious struggle, a struggle between dictatorship and republican democracy, between revolution and counterrevolution, and between fascism and communism.[10] According to Claude Bowers, U.S. ambassador to Spain during the war, it was the "dress rehearsal" for World War II.[11] The Nationalists won the war, which ended in early 1939, and ruled Spain until Franco's death in November 1975.............The war became notable for the passion and political division it inspired and for the many atrocities that occurred, on both sides. Organised purges occurred in territory captured by Franco's forces so they could consolidate their future regime.[16] Mass executions on a lesser scale also took place in areas controlled by the Republicans,[17] with the participation of local authorities varying from location to location.[18][19]
Spain Being A Nuisance About Gibraltar Again [ 31 July 2021 ]
QUOTE
SPAIN IS at it again, lusting for British tourists and the euros they bring to spend, but unable to cease complaining about the Rock of Gibraltar. The latest ploy is to use the EU and its ongoing vengefulness over Brexit to decree that Spain should take over all border controls. So time for us once again to roll out the actual text of the Treaty of Utrecht of 1715 [ See Peace And Friendship Treaty Of Utrecht Between Spain And Great Britain ], which conceded the Rock to us in perpetuity.
At the time it had one inhabitant, a lone Spanish fisherman who left. Ever since, whenever Spain has had an internal problem like Catalan's lust for independence, up pops Gibraltar as a diversionary tactic. For the record, Gibraltarians are not even Spanish or Spain-descended. Their ancestors came from all over the Mediterranean. They are fiercely loyal to old Blighty and the Rock prospers to the point that 30,000 Spaniards come in every morning to work there and much appreciate the salaries. So the constant complaining comes only from Madrid.
If we are going to start rewriting solemn old treaties, we could respond by encouraging Morocco to claim back the two Spanish enclaves on her coast, Ceuta and Melilla, for whose Spanish ownership there is far less justification.
One might hope that the EU would have got over Brexit by now but the bad temper - as the nightmare of rules wrecking peaceful trade with Northern Ireland shows - just goes on and on. Would a large banner with the words, in Spanish, "For Pete's sake grow up" help in any way? Alas, almost certainly not.

Spanish politicians harass Gibraltar when it is expedient while holding their Colonies of Ceuta and Melilla without compunction. Amusingly it turns out that they invaded the Plazas de soberanía, or, at all events Perejil Island on 11 July 2002 because Morocco stationed six gendarmes there. Spain used commandos of Grupo de Operaciones Especiales, with the support of the Spanish Navy and Spanish Air Force. The Spanish achieved victory. Frederick Forsyth explains all. Fred flew de Havilland Vampires with the Royal Air Force before becoming a journalist.
