Privatization and Blair

Blair inclined to the right until his wife got at him it seems. So he is another  leader of the Labour Party who has never done an honest day's work in his life. He just loves the pay offs though. Given that he and Brown control a humungous cash stream which is some £500 billion and rising it is easy to see that he is not going to walk poor. Boris Berezovsky said [ see Privatization in Russia ] that the first step in privatization is to privatize the cash flow. That is what Blair has done. There are rules regarding people going out of government and taking jobs with the firms they have been dealing with. This is to reduce corruption. Blair is loosening them to make corruption easier.
PS    He does love a freebie.
PPS Italians do not pay bribes unless they are going to pay off.

'Blair Force One' will cost £12m a year [ 21 June 2006 ]
Get it while the getting is good. That is Prime Ministerial policy. Otherwise - Greed is good. Using and abusing the Queen's Flight is now beneath his dignity. It will make it easier to get all of those freebies from Silvio Berlusconi. PS It will take about 1,200 taxpayers to feed this particular bit of aggrandizement.

Brown reduces fraud - his own that is
He is going to reduce his off balance sheet numbers. So things will look even worse. No doubt it is all perfectly legal when he does it or no one has the bottle to charge him. He is admitting to some £53 billion  of the controversial PFI deals. Perhaps the Private Eye comments helped.

Blair Got A £50,000 Yale Scholarship [ 25 May 2006 ]
His old man is Jack the Lad when it comes to freebies. Like father, like son? Someone did this for a reason and Blair's brains are not it.
QUOTE
He is also believed to be planning a holiday rather than concentrating on his studies. Euan began his gap year with two months of 'work experience' at a Paris radio station owned by the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy chain. He enjoyed an estimated £40,000 worth of perks including the use of a £2 million apartment and a chauffeur-driven Mercedes with bodyguard.

Are these pay offs for favours past, present or future? Meanwhile pensioners will shiver this winter.

Minister denies NHS IT 'fiasco' [ 17 May 2006 ]
QUOTE
They insist the £6.2 billion project - described as the world's largest civil IT scheme - has caused untoward disruption...... The hi-tech initiative is at the heart of  Blair's efforts to modernise the National Health Service.
UNQUOTE

They have spent  £502 million on management so far with more to come no doubt. How difficult is it to connect a few thousand PCs to a main frame? It should all be standard stuff. It needs a bright lad who knows C++ and Linux. Any payments over £1 million are the result of gross fraud and gross incompetence. Of course with Blair splashing money round, it is snouts in the trough - up to the trotters at that. You might wonder what the NHS management do for a living if they use management consultants. Perhaps they constitute a pension scheme.

'Cash for honours' grilling [ 15 May 2006 ]
QUOTE
Lord Levy has told friends that he does not intend to be the fall guy for Mr Blair, who ordered him to save Labour from financial ruin.
UNQUOTE

Is Levy going to keep his mouth shut and go to prison so that Blair can get away with it? I wouldn't either. The police have arrested some little nonentity but will they have the bottle to arrest Blair?

Project Allenby/Connaught
Rebuilding barracks at Aldershot and on Salisbury Plain is a big job. The Ministry of Defence called it  Project Allenby/Connaught and  invited bids. It settled on Aspire Defence Limited which is a consortium of HSBC, Carrillion and Kellogg, Brown Root. The latter two mobs come in for an extra £5.7 billion for running the grounds, catering and a few other things.

Three years ago the deal was going to cost £3.9 billion which is a lot of money for rebuilding some barracks. Now the deal has been signed for £8 billion which is humungous and has nothing to do with inflation. Competitive tendering? Not on your life. It is like voting in the Stalin era. One candidate,  one vote and one winner. See more at Key Developments | Reuters and page 8 of Private Eye 1157. Anyone who thinks that Blair and his cronies are going to walk poor really hasn't got it.

Treasury Tells The Truth
Des Brown is the Treasury Chief Secretary. He told the truth, by accident one assumes. He claimed that the use of Private Finance Initiatives  is explained by Her Majesty's Government's enthusiasm for fraudulent accounting which is of course legal when HMG does it. The fact that they are vastly more expensive is neither here nor there. Maggie's privatizations were simpler, cleaner, effective and profitable. But that was then. This is now. He contradicted Brown's story line. Something on Des is at Des Brown. See the full story at page 5 of Private Eye 1156

Blair 'sleazy, incompetent', say voters [ 30 April 2006 ]
Sleaze is the euphemism for corruption that was used against the Tories. Labour is far more corrupt than the Tories. Blair is not incompetent. Blair is creating a police state deliberately, systematically and very successfully.

Super-rich prosper under Labour [ 25 April 2006  ]
How many of them have done anything for England or Englishmen? Not a lot is the answer. Blair loves them though.

QUOTE
Casino owners, high-flying businesswomen and retail entrepreneurs have helped to boost the combined wealth of the super-rich. Half of the new entries in this year’s The Sunday Times Rich List with fortunes of half a billion or more owe their wealth to internet gambling or casinos.
UNQUOTE

Meanwhile English jobs are being shipped overseas or taken by illegal immigrants.
