There are people out there with peculiar opinions. There always have been. Some might even be right. Isaac Newton went down a lot of dead ends; alchemy was one but came up with very important results. Malthus took a big position on population growth but was wrong. With some six billion and rising we might wonder whether it would have been better if he was right. Ehrlich said something of the sort about expanding nations and looked silly.

But there are people who want to take some one plausible at face value,  Rebels Without A Cause. Once one is proved wrong it is on to the next. Newspapers like these Red Herrings. They sell the product. Here is something on the wrong like Marx. Others are not necessarily vicious or Fanatics. The lunatic fringe is closely related to Lenin's Useful Idiots. It turns out that psychologists have looked into this phenomenon and decided in essence that those involved are mad. It is a question of degree in each case and of course it is put at more length. Read for yourself. Think for yourself. Decide for yourself.

Victims of the Fringe include the Oxford Martyrs who were burnt at the stake in 1556 AD for belonging to the wrong branch of Christianity. Two were bishops, one was the Archbishop of Canterbury aka Cantaur. They were victims of the Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Oxford.

His error was translating the Bible so that the rest of us could read it, so that we did not have to believe what they told us. Now their descendants or the like minded will not read it, despise it and are quite prepared to desecrate it and what it stands for. They are also keen on Sodomy, Feminism and other heresies. They claim a belief in Global Warming based on deep ignorance and a need to conform with their peculiar friends.

One symptom of their stupidity is Pretentious Drivel. There are people out there with degrees in mediaeval Latin or similar areas who worm their way into the media and write turgid nonsense. Private Eye has been publishing their rubbish in Pseuds Corner for decades now. The supply shows no signs of drying up.

If they were concerned about Western Civilization being overrun by hordes of brown and black Third World parasites they would make a lot more sense; they would be dealing with reality, not fraud.
