As everyone knows, you don’t need to hold elections to call yourself a democracy. Aside from martial law, there would be some big logistical challenges to holding an election right now. Like, Zelensky could lose! In the last poll of Ukrainians before the war, 53% of voters disapproved of his job performance and 38% approved.

Also, an election without other candidates and parties isn’t much fun. Ukraine has banned all left-wing parties, and also banned 11 other parties, including the biggest one, whose leader is under house arrest. Better not to bother............

Israel, I like to say, is “a safe, secure, Jewish, and democratic state.” OK, not that safe. But, like Ukraine, it’s a democracy. Israel is a very, very special kind of democracy.

In a democracy, the right to vote is one of the most fundamental privileges accorded to a citizen. The trouble is, sometimes people vote incorrectly. And in a democracy, all you need to do to be considered a citizen is to be born and live in the country.

Ayala’s public defender, David Westbrook, also appeared to be laughing alongside the teen in the courtroom on Tuesday, video from KTNV shows.

But, Farrakhan alleged in his multibillion-dollar lawsuit the labeling of him as anti-Semitic is a "false narrative" pushed by the ADL, according to the report.

The use of white phosphorus in Gaza, one of the most densely populated areas in the world, magnifies the risk to civilians and violates the international humanitarian law prohibition on putting civilians at unnecessary risk.

“Any time that white phosphorus is used in crowded civilian areas, it poses a high risk of excruciating burns and lifelong suffering,” said Lama Fakih, Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch. “White phosphorous is unlawfully indiscriminate when airburst in populated urban areas, where it can burn down houses and cause egregious harm to civilians.”

Black Thief Had Over 160 Stolen Guns

Mohammed Imran Ali Akhtar, 42, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today where he pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault between August 2001 and July 2002.

Akhtar picked the girl up in his car on multiple occasions and drove her to different locations before raping her and also provided her with alcohol and drugs each time they met, the court heard.   The victim, who cannot be named, was led to believe she was in a relationship with Akhtar, who would threaten to drop her off in an unknown location and leave her stranded if she did not comply with his demands for sex.

Akhtar is being prosecuted as part of Operation Stovewood, a major National Crime Agency investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation which took place in Rotherham, in south Yorkshire, between 1997 and 2013.

In the United States today demonstrators and rally attendees are turned into “insurrectionists” and sentenced to prison. Pawlowski, who first rose to prominence for expelling Canadian police from his church for trying to shut down an Easter service in 2021, faced multiple charges, including “mischief,” a crime in Canada, and violating the Critical Infrastructure Defense Act (CIDA). The latter charge suggested that Pawlowski’s speaking to protesters on the Alberta-Montana border was an attack on the province’s road infrastructure, as he encouraged them to continue an ongoing blockade demanding the lifting of coronavirus-related mandates. Prosecutors were demanding up to ten months in prison for the pastor on the grounds that he has publicly and repeatedly denied having any remorse for his vocal opposition to lockdowns.

“I’m not ashamed of what I did. If I had a chance to do it again, I would do it again, gladly,” Pawlowski told a crowd of supporters after his conviction on Monday..........

Prior to the sentencing, prosecutor Steven Johnston argued that the case, in which Pawlowski faced charges for delivering a sermon, was “not about freedom of religion and it is not about free speech.”

Animal Abuser Runs Amok, Murdering Two In Holland
