dollars of losses to FTX account holders and others, including
left-wing charities and the Democrat Party, recipient of $40 million
in the last election cycle. (As the poster boy for “effective
altruism”
said, “I wanted to get rich, not because I like money but
because I wanted to give that money to charity.”)
No one knows for sure yet how much the losses are, but it looks
really big. Huge..............
But no. His Royal Highness, Prince Sam, was not brought up in such a
household. He was brought up in the upperest class of upper-class
households, at which the Eddie Antars of the Brooklyn Jewish world
could only gape in intimidated awe. Both Sam’s father,

But that has not happened. In the six years
since we voted to break free from the European Union,
net inward migration has spiralled upwards. The latest figures, for the year
to June, show an estimated 504,000 more people arriving for long-term
residence in the UK than leaving.............
Politicians claim we need high levels of immigration to fuel economic
growth. But we've had a steady increase throughout this century, pushing our
population from about 59million in 2000 to 68million today – and we still
have low growth. It's economically illiterate to argue that we need more
migrants. What we desperately need instead is a long-term industrial
strategy, with investment in the skills of the existing domestic workforce.
That means apprenticeships, training, bursaries, scholarships and other
schemes to fill jobs with young British workers.
The
sabotage of the two Nord Stream pipelines leaves Europeans certain to be
much poorer and colder this winter, and was an act of international
vandalism on an almost unimaginable scale. The attacks severed Russian gas
supplies to Europe and caused the release of
enormous quantities of methane gas, the prime offender in global
warming.
This is
why no one is going to take responsibility for the crime – and most likely
no one will ever be found definitively culpable.
Nonetheless, the level of difficulty and sophistication in setting off
blasts at three separate locations on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines
overwhelmingly suggests a state actor, or actors, was behind it. Western
coverage of the attacks has been decidedly muted, given that this hostile
assault on the globe’s energy infrastructure is unprecedented –
overshadowing even the 9/11 attacks.
The
reason why there appears to be so little enthusiasm to explore this
catastrophic event in detail – beyond
pointing a finger in Russia’s direction – is not difficult to deduce.
It is
hard to think of a single reason why Moscow would wish to destroy its own
energy pipelines, valued at $20 billion, or allow in seawater, possibly
corroding them irreversibly.
The
attacks deprive Russia of its main gas supply lines to Europe – and with it,
vital future revenues – while leaving the field open to competitors.................
Media taboo This
week, distinguished economist Jeffrey Sachs was invited on Bloomberg
TV to talk about the pipeline attacks. He broke a taboo among Western elites
by
citing evidence suggesting that the US, rather than Russia, was the
prime suspect.

Western
media like the
Associated Press have tried to foreclose such a line of thinking
by calling it a “baseless conspiracy theory” and Russian “disinformation”.
But, as Sachs pointed out, there are good reasons to suspect the US above
Russia.
There
is, for example, the threat to Russia made by US president Joe Biden back in
early February, that “there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2” were Ukraine
to be invaded. Questioned by a reporter about how that would be possible,
Biden
asserted: “I promise you, we will be able to do that.”
Biden
was not speaking out of turn or off the cuff. At the same time,
Victoria Nuland, a senior diplomat in the
Biden administration, issued Russia much the same warning,
telling reporters: “If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord
Stream 2 will not move forward.”................
Demand for fealty If the
US was behind the attacks, it suggests not only that Washington is taking
the Ukraine war into new, more dangerous territory, ready to risk drawing
Moscow into a round of tit-for-tats that could quickly escalate into a
nuclear confrontation. It also suggests that ties between the US and Europe
have entered a decisive new stage, too.
Or put
another way, Washington would have done more than move out of the shadows,
turning its proxy war in Ukraine into a more direct, hot war with Russia. It
would indicate that the US is willing to turn the whole of Europe into a
battlefield, and bully, betray and potentially sacrifice the continent’s
population as cruelly as it has traditionally treated weak allies in the
Global South............
By
contrast, this act of sabotage strangles Europe economically, driving it
into recession, deepening its debt and making it a slave to US energy
supplies. Effectively, the Biden administration would have moved from
offering European elites juicy carrots to now wielding a very large stick at
them..............
The
conclusion European leaders would be left to draw is that the only
justification for such pitiless aggression is that the US is maneuvering to
avoid the collapse of its post-war global dominance, the end of its military
and economic empire.
The
destruction of the pipelines would have to be understood as an act of
desperation: a last-ditch preemption by Washington of the loss of its
hegemony as Russia, China and others find common cause to challenge the
American behemoth, and a ferocious blow against Europe to hammer home the
message that it must not stray from the fold............
Europeans have been persuaded that they must give unflinching moral and
military support to Ukraine because it is the last rampart defending their
homeland from a merciless Russian imperialism.

Jamaica Declares State Of Emergency In Montego Bay

Faulkner’s difficult novel [

and the Fury ] came to mind during this month’s moral
panic, and subsequent attempted financial annihilation, over comments

On this day in 1956 a new Hungarian government is formed during the
Hungarian Revolution, opposing the joys of Socialism.
Police were called to a hotel in Nottingham city
centre at around 1am on Saturday after a woman was assaulted. They were
confronted by a muscle-bound Daniel Johnson, 39, who became aggressive when
police attempted to arrest him.
Officers were punched, kicked and thrown to the
ground when Johnson launched a frenzied attack in the hotel corridor. No one was
injured in the attack and Johnson was finally handcuffed.
Johnson, of Camden, London, admitted five assaults
by beating of an emergency worker, a racially aggravated common assault by
beating, an assault by beating on a hotel employee and criminal damage. On
Monday he was jailed for 12 months at Nottingham Magistrates' Court.

Rooney Whyte, 42, led police for 35 miles
along the M26 and M25 from Kent to Surrey before dumping the car and fleeing
into a wooded field where he was arrested on January 25.
Video footage filmed by a police helicopter
showed Whyte weaving across lanes in an Audi Q5 and driving on the hard
shoulder after passing Clacket Lane Services on the M25. He was tracked by
the helicopter leaving the motorway at Junction 11 where he began overtaking
vehicles into oncoming traffic..............
But officers were able to arrest him after
seeing that he had thrown a handgun into some brambles.

The shocking case — in
Gov. Kathy Hochul’s western New York hometown — has sparked fresh
outrage to New York’s no-cash-bail laws and to the governor and fellow
Democrats for refusing to repeal them.
Adam Bennefield, 45, who has a prior conviction for kidnapping another ex
at gunpoint, is now charged with shooting dead his 30-year-old wife, Keaira
Bennefield. The victim was taking her young children — ages 6 months to 9 years — to
school on the morning of Oct. 5, when he ambushed her on a road and gunned
her down, authorities said.
Bennefield was free to carry out the alleged murder after being released
from custody a day earlier despite the horrific attack on his wife inside
her home.
The estranged hubby was hit with misdemeanor charges and served an order
of protection, which cops said he promptly violated to carry out the brutal
killing of his wife.

Thousands Of Police Are Bent Says Report QUOTE Thousands of police have criminal records, are linked to gangsters or pose a
risk to the public, watchdogs warned yesterday.
Analysis of personnel files found it was far
too easy for misogynistic, corrupt or predatory officers to join up and stay
in uniform.

Inspector of Constabulary, called for better screening to weed out
dangerous individuals. Among the bombshell findings in his report were:
Officers could switch forces without vetting information being
passed on;
Some bosses hired recruits without conducting face-to-face
interviews;
Others failed to check employment records of
applicants and even hired recruits who had lied on applications;
Bosses took extra risks on candidates if it helped
boost diversity.
His Majesty’s Inspectorate for Constabulary
and Fire and Rescue Services made a remarkable 43 recommendations to address
‘shoddy’ standards. Commissioned last October in the wake of the murder of
Sarah Everard by Met officer Wayne Couzens, the probe examined three forces
linked with the killer – Kent Police, the Met and the Civil Nuclear
Constabulary. Also scrutinised were Cumbria, South Wales, Nottinghamshire,
Dorset and Devon and Cornwall.
Mr Parr cited ‘astonishing’ examples of
vetting failures, including one special constable who had a 12-month

Blacks DOA After London Firefight

will not be considered serious asylum seekers and will be sent back upon

We should in due course undertake this
practice with citizens of all safe countries. It may be that we will be
challenged in court on the grounds of ‘discrimination’. If so, we should
bring forward a one-page piece of legislation to make it legal................ The
time has come to end this scandal.
